Embellished & Embroidered Shoes
Embellishment is a quality-control problem wearing a design costume. The design is the easy part; keeping 600 stones on a shoe through packing, shipping and a customer's first evening is the work.
This collection is everything in the library with surface decoration: machine and hand embroidery, glitter finishes, rhinestones, studs, bows and metal trim.
It is also the category where a buyer's defect standard matters most, so most of what follows is about what to agree before production rather than what to design.
21 styles in this collection, showing the first 15. Ask for the complete list.
The techniques, and what each costs
Machine embroidery is the cheapest per unit once the design file exists, because the cost is in the setup and the stitch count. Hand embroidery is a different product — slower, more variable, and priced by the hour.
Glitter is a finish applied to the material rather than an object attached to it, so it does not fall off in the same way but it does shed. Rhinestones are the opposite: individually set, individually losable. Studs and metal trim sit in between.
Attachment is the whole risk
There are three ways to hold a stone on a shoe: a prong setting that goes through the material, an adhesive, and a stitch. Prong-set stones hold best and cost most. Adhesive is fast and fails in heat. A stitched setting is the most secure and the least flexible in design terms.
Ask for a pull test on the decorated panels before packing. It is a simple check — pull each trim type by hand — and it catches the batch where the adhesive was applied too thin or the prong was not closed.
Where the cost actually sits
Not in the stones themselves, in most cases. It sits in the placement: how many pieces, how dense the pattern, and whether the placement is done by hand or by a template. A design that needs 400 individually placed stones is a different order from one that needs 40.
The other hidden cost is the reject rate. Embellished styles produce more seconds than plain ones, and that reject rate is priced into the quotation whether it is stated or not. Knowing the number makes the price comparison honest.
Packing and transit
Decoration snags. A rhinestone catches the lining of the shoe next to it in a carton, and a bow is crushed by the weight of the carton above. Both are packing problems with cheap fixes: individual polybags, tissue over decorated panels, and a carton orientation that keeps weight off the decoration.
Tell us how the goods will be handled after they leave us. A carton that goes straight to a retail distribution centre is packed differently from one that is opened and checked on arrival.
Agree the defect standard first
What counts as a defect on an embellished shoe? One missing stone out of 400? A stone set 2 mm off its position? A glue halo around a setting? These are judgement calls, and if they are not agreed in writing before production, they get argued about at inspection.
Write the standard into the order: the defect definitions, the acceptable quality level, and who inspects. We would rather agree a strict standard up front than negotiate a soft one after the goods are packed.

What to send us
Style codes, quantities per style and colour, your market, your target retail price and the date you need the goods. If you are matching a material, send a swatch or a close-up photograph.
Send us the decoration, not just the style
Send a photograph of the decoration at close range and tell us the quantity per style. We will quote the attachment method and the reject rate honestly.
